The Tri-County Heritage Society, Morgantown would like to announce the publication of their booklet entitled “Honoring World War II Veterans of Caernarvon Township Berks County”. The booklet gives a brief biography, including service records, of most of the World War II veterans listed on the Caernarvon Township War Memorial located at the American Legion in Joanna. No information could be found on two of the veterans listed – James Heister and John H. Stoltzfus. In addition to the biographies of these veterans, other World War II veterans are included that have connections to the society. Additionally there are sections devoted to the history of the War Memorial, brief descriptions of some major war time events and what was happening on the homefront including excerpts from a local diary compiled by a Morgantown resident, Emma Finger.

The Tri-County Heritage Society is a non-profit organization whose mission is to collect, preserve and disseminate the history that relates to the people, properties and events of the tri-county area (Berks, Chester and Lancaster).
